W4 Discuss Reagle’s Chapters 1-2.

Discuss Reagle’s Chapters 1-2.
(This is only about Reagle's Chapters 1 actually I didn't read Chapter2 yet...)

1) summary
Wikipedia shows the past scholars expectations.
As they said, the more techological skills are improving, the more information are integrated through web.

The key words are Good faith, Openness and consensus.
Wikipedia has norms like 'Neutral Point of Veiw' and It is run by its good fatih collaborative culture.
And the reason Wikipedia has increased is 'openness'.
But Still there are some issues about Wikipedia's openness because It is messy and hard to work together.

2) Actually I think the concept which is used to explain Wikipedia are somewhat vague and
not objective.

3)
Content in chapter 6 is pretty hard to understand.
I found leader vote who is chosen by wikipedian on Korean WIkipedia.
And I would like to discuss the role and meaning of Leaders of WIkipedia.
Plus, the standards about Neutral, Good faith and Openness.

 w4. Discuss reagle's chapters 1-2.

1) summarize in my own words.
In this book they define about wikipedia. Mostly, it focus on the cultural reception and interpretation of wikipedia. They want to make sense of social unease embodied in by wikipedia. The keyword of this reading article is "openness" of the larger wikipedia community. They want to explore about collective intelligence and collaborative characteristic. They think brainstorming for a free and open source encyclopedia might become recent stage of a long-running pursuit.

2) mention of any new items learned
I think wikipedia is just encyclopedia that we can find some information that we want. But thanks for this material and class, I can understand the process of wikipedia. Many people help each other by accumulating some knowledge together. In internet, they don't know each other and didn't meet before. In a rough way, I thought that this internet service is made just for our convenience at a time. But it isn't. They undergo a lot of strive by so many people. From now on, I will also start to add my effort.

3) identify question, concern or discussion.
Suddenly, I wonder who think work of wikipedia. Why he start this service and how to make this principle. He made natural but reasonable promise from each other. I want to know the beginning of wikipedia.

"What do I know about Wiki and what do I want to learn about it?"

Wikipedia is started from January 15th, 2001.
It is non-profit corporation that operated by anybody who want to use or write.

I have just known that the word of "Wikipedia" and did't use this.
But thanks for this class, I find wiki and have so many information of 'knowledge'.

And I want to learn about wiki in future.
There are already a lot of information and articles in wiki.
So there are little information to fill from now on.
Maybe someone who enjoy to fix it will lost their hobby soon.

" Why do you think people use Wikipedia? Why do others write for it?

I think people use Wiki because large amount of knowledge are wrote about wide range. And it is convenient to approach, use and participate.

And maybe the reason of people's participation is their interest!
When they have just their knowledge, they don't know whether they know or not.
But by writing about their thinking, they can learn about the knowledge more specific.
And when they find works that they wrote, they fill satisfaction.

p.s. I have question!
I want to add some picture for wikipedia.
But I can't know about how to this.
There is 'help' for it but it is difficult for me understand.
